Lehigh Students

Here, you’ll find everything you need to know about lost keys, lock changes, and ID card issues, including how to request assistance and important contact information. Security is a collective responsibility. The University and residential community share the commitment to maintaining a safe and secure living environment.

Each resident plays an important role in supporting this effort:

  • Do not prop open building doors for any reason.
  • Always lock your door and carry your keys.
  • Do not admit unknown or unidentified people to locked sections or buildings. Residents seeking entry should be willing to show their Lehigh ID.
  • If you encounter unidentified individuals in the buildings, report the situation to a staff member or to the Lehigh University Police Department (LUPD) immediately.
  • All residents must present a Lehigh ID card when requested by any University official; refusal may result in disciplinary action.
  • Try not to lose your ID card or room key, and never loan them to others. If they are lost or stolen, contact the IDEAL Office and Lehigh University Police right away.
  • Report all incidents of theft or damage to the Office of Housing Services.
