Students – Undergraduate, Graduate and Distance Education 

Policy: All currently registered full-time or part-time students are entitled to receive the Lehigh Pass.

Procedure: Lehigh University is transitioning to mobile credentials (Lehigh Pass). Please note that you must have an active Lehigh computing account and Single Sign-On (SSO) set up before completing this process. To obtain and set up your Lehigh Pass, follow these four steps:

  1. Submit your ID photo via the Online Photo Submission Portal.
  2. Wait for an approval message from lehighpass@lehigh.edu (24-48 hours).
  3. 20 minutes after approval, download the eAccounts app (available for Apple Wallet, Google Wallet, and Samsung Wallet) and set up your Lehigh Pass.
  4. Allow 15 minutes after adding to your mobile wallet before using it.

Note: Physical ID cards are limited and will still be provided for accommodation purposes. For requests or assistance regarding physical cards, please email ideal@lehigh.edu. Photos or screenshots of the Lehigh Pass are available upon request. 

 

Faculty, Staff, Adjunct Professors, and 

Visiting Research Engineers/Scientists/Scholars

Policy: All benefits-eligible faculty and staff are entitled to receive the Lehigh Pass.

Retired Faculty and Staff

Policy: All benefits-eligible faculty and staff who have retired are entitled to retain their Lehigh Pass. The mobile credential will automatically update your status as a retiree after your end date. 

Procedure: No action is needed to maintain your Lehigh Pass. Electronic campus door privileges automatically terminate when retirement begins. Should you need ongoing physical security access, your sponsoring administrative or academic unit must submit a formal request via email to ideal@lehigh.edu.

Spouse/Domestic Partner

Policy: All spouses and domestic partners of benefits-eligible faculty or staff members are entitled to receive a Lehigh University Plastic ID. Please note: Due to the lack of a Lehigh email and computing account, spouses and domestic partners are not eligible for the Lehigh Mobile Credential.

Procedure: To obtain a Plastic ID for your spouse or domestic partner, please follow these steps:

  1. Contact Human Resources at inhro@lehigh.edu to request a LIN (Lehigh Identification Number) for your spouse or partner.
  2. Procure a headshot photo. The photo must be a color, head-and-shoulders photograph of you facing the camera with a plain background. We cannot accept photos with filters, or where you are wearing sunglasses, hats, or anything that would make it difficult to determine your identity.
  3. Once you receive the LIN, email IDEAL at ideal@lehigh.edu. In your email, include your name and LIN, along with your spouse or partner's name, LIN, and the headshot ID photo. 

You will receive pickup instructions when the ID card is ready for pickup by you, your spouse, or your partner. 

 

Contractors, Vendors and Consultants

Policy: Contractors, vendors, and consultants are not entitled to receive the Lehigh Pass. This group will receive an Access ID card; see the instructions to obtain it here.

Upon graduation or withdrawal from the university, or upon termination of employment, your Lehigh Pass is no longer valid. Physical ID cards remain the property of Lehigh University and must be surrendered to the University upon request. Lehigh University reserves the right to deactivate any and all mobile credentials in the event of a security concern.
